Valentín Paniagua
Valentín Paniagua was a Peruvian politician and lawyer, born on December 23, 1936. He served as the interim President of Peru from November 2000 to July 2001, following the resignation of Alberto Fujimori. Paniagua was known for his efforts to restore democracy and promote political stability in the country.
Before his presidency, Paniagua held various political roles, including serving as a member of the Peruvian Congress. He was a founding member of the Democratic Left Party and played a significant role in the transition to a democratic government after years of authoritarian rule. Paniagua passed away on April 16, 2023.
