Union Territories of India
The Union Territories of India are regions that are governed directly by the Central Government of India. Unlike states, which have their own governments, Union Territories often have a Lieutenant Governor or an Administrator appointed by the President of India. This structure allows for more direct control and administration by the central authority.
As of now, India has eight Union Territories, including Delhi, Puducherry, and Chandigarh. Each Union Territory has its own unique characteristics and cultural significance, but they all share the common feature of being administered at the national level, ensuring uniformity in governance across these regions.
