Undercooked Meals
Undercooked meals refer to food that has not been cooked thoroughly, leaving it raw or partially cooked. This can occur with various types of food, including meats, poultry, and eggs. Consuming undercooked meals can pose health risks, as harmful bacteria like Salmonella and E. coli may survive the cooking process.
To ensure food safety, it is important to cook meals to the recommended internal temperatures. For example, poultry should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C), while ground beef should be cooked to at least 160°F (71°C). Proper cooking helps eliminate pathogens and makes food safe to eat.
