USS North Carolina (SSN-777)
The USS North Carolina (SSN-777) is a nuclear-powered attack submarine of the Virginia class, designed for a variety of missions, including anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface ship warfare, and intelligence gathering. Commissioned in 2008, it is named after the state of North Carolina and is the first submarine to bear this name.
The submarine features advanced stealth technology, enabling it to operate undetected in hostile environments. With a length of 377 feet and a displacement of approximately 7,800 tons, the USS North Carolina can carry a crew of about 134 personnel, including officers and enlisted sailors.
