ULFA
The United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) is a separatist militant organization based in the Indian state of Assam. Founded in 1979, its primary goal is to establish an independent Assamese state. The group emerged in response to perceived economic and cultural marginalization of the Assamese people.
ULFA has been involved in various forms of violence, including bombings and kidnappings, which have led to significant unrest in the region. Over the years, the Indian government has engaged in peace talks with the organization, aiming to resolve the conflict and promote stability in Northeast India.
