Bodo Liberation Tigers
The Bodo Liberation Tigers (BLT) is a militant group based in the northeastern Indian state of Assam. Formed in the early 1990s, the group aims to establish a separate state for the Bodo people, an indigenous ethnic community in the region. The BLT has been involved in various violent activities, including armed conflict and negotiations with the Indian government.
In 2003, the BLT signed a ceasefire agreement and later transformed into a political party, the Bodo People's Front. This shift aimed to pursue the rights and interests of the Bodo community through democratic means. The group has played a significant role in the ongoing discussions about autonomy and development for the Bodo people.
