National Socialist Council of Nagaland
The National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) is a separatist group based in the northeastern region of India, primarily advocating for the rights and autonomy of the Naga people. Formed in 1980, the NSCN seeks to establish a sovereign state for the Nagas, who inhabit areas in both India and Myanmar. The group has been involved in various peace talks with the Indian government over the years.
The NSCN has split into factions, with the most notable being the NSCN (IM) and NSCN (K). These factions differ in their approaches and demands, but they share a common goal of Naga self-determination. The ongoing conflict has led to significant political and social challenges in the region, impacting the lives of many Naga people.
