Turnovers (Baking)
Turnovers are a type of pastry made by folding dough over a filling, which can be sweet or savory. The dough is typically a flaky pastry, similar to that used for croissants, allowing for a light and crispy texture when baked. Common fillings include fruits like apples or berries, as well as meats and cheeses.
To make turnovers, the dough is rolled out and cut into circles or squares. A small amount of filling is placed in the center, and the dough is then folded over and sealed, often with a fork. After baking, turnovers are golden brown and can be served warm or at room temperature.
