Treaty of Brest-Litovsk
The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk was a peace agreement signed on March 3, 1918, between the Central Powers and the Bolshevik government of Russia. This treaty marked Russia's exit from World War I and resulted in significant territorial losses for Russia, including areas like Poland, Ukraine, and the Baltic States.
The treaty was negotiated in the city of Brest-Litovsk, which is now in Belarus. It was a controversial agreement, as it was seen by many as a betrayal of the Russian people. The treaty was later annulled after the defeat of the Central Powers in November 1918.
