Transjordan
Transjordan, also known as Jordan, is a historical region located east of the Jordan River. It was part of the ancient kingdoms of Ammon, Moab, and Edom. Today, it primarily refers to the modern-day country of Jordan, which gained independence from British rule in 1946.
