Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP)
The Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) is a major natural gas pipeline that runs through Turkey, connecting the Shah Deniz gas field in Azerbaijan to Europe. It is part of the larger Southern Gas Corridor, which aims to diversify energy supplies and reduce dependence on Russian gas.
TANAP stretches approximately 1,850 kilometers and was completed in 2018. The pipeline plays a crucial role in transporting natural gas to various countries, including Greece and Italy, enhancing energy security and fostering economic cooperation in the region.
