Shah Deniz
Shah Deniz is a natural gas field located in the Caspian Sea, off the coast of Azerbaijan. Discovered in 1999, it is one of the largest gas fields in the world, with significant reserves that contribute to energy supplies in Europe and beyond. The field is operated by a consortium led by BP and includes several other international companies.
The development of Shah Deniz has led to the construction of major pipelines, such as the Southern Gas Corridor, which transports gas to European markets. This project aims to diversify energy sources and reduce dependence on other suppliers, enhancing energy security for countries in the region.
