Tiberius Sempronius Gracchus
Tiberius Sempronius Gracchus was a Roman politician and reformer born around 163 BC. He is best known for his efforts to address social and economic inequalities in the Roman Republic. Gracchus proposed land reforms aimed at redistributing public land to the poor, which challenged the interests of the wealthy elite.
His reforms led to significant political conflict, and in 133 BC, Tiberius was assassinated by political opponents. His death marked a turning point in Roman politics, highlighting the growing tensions between the patricians and plebeians. Gracchus's legacy influenced future reformers, including his brother, Gaius Gracchus.
