The Theban Triad refers to a group of three ancient Egyptian deities worshipped primarily in the city of Thebes. This triad consists of Amun, the king of the gods; Mut, his wife and the goddess of motherhood; and Khonsu, their son, who represents the moon and time. Together, they played a significant role in the religious practices of ancient Egypt.
The worship of the Theban Triad was central to the New Kingdom period, particularly during the 18th Dynasty. Temples dedicated to these gods, such as the Karnak Temple Complex, were important religious sites where rituals and offerings were made to honor them and seek their blessings.
