Taiwanese Indigenous Peoples
Taiwanese Indigenous Peoples are the original inhabitants of Taiwan, with a rich cultural heritage that predates Han Chinese migration. They belong to various tribes, each with its own language, traditions, and customs. There are currently 16 officially recognized tribes, including the Amis, Atayal, and Paiwan.
These communities have unique social structures and practices, often centered around agriculture, hunting, and fishing. In recent years, there has been a growing movement to preserve their languages and traditions, as well as to gain recognition and rights within the broader Taiwanese society.
