Sudanese Civil War
The Sudanese Civil War refers to a series of conflicts in Sudan that began in 1955 and continued intermittently until 2005. The war primarily involved the northern and southern regions of the country, with the southern population seeking greater autonomy and rights. The conflict resulted in significant loss of life and displacement of millions.
In 2011, South Sudan gained independence from Sudan after a peace agreement was signed, ending the long-standing civil war. However, tensions and violence have persisted in both countries, with ongoing conflicts in regions like Darfur and Blue Nile, affecting stability and humanitarian conditions.
