South Asian Football
South Asian football refers to the sport played in the countries of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), which includes India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Maldives. The region has a rich football history, with various leagues and tournaments, such as the I-League in India and the Pakistan Premier League.
Despite challenges like limited infrastructure and funding, South Asian football has seen growth in popularity and talent. National teams compete in international competitions, including the SAFF Championship, which showcases the best teams in the region. Grassroots initiatives are also emerging to develop young players.
