South Asian Federation
The South Asian Federation refers to a proposed regional organization aimed at promoting cooperation among countries in South Asia, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Maldives. The idea is to enhance economic, political, and cultural ties among these nations, fostering peace and development in the region.
While the concept has been discussed in various forums, it has not yet materialized into a formal entity like the European Union. Challenges such as historical conflicts, differing political systems, and economic disparities have hindered progress toward establishing a cohesive federation in South Asia.
