Sorbian people
The Sorbian people are a Slavic ethnic group primarily found in the region of Lusatia, which spans parts of eastern Germany and western Poland. They have their own distinct languages, Upper Sorbian and Lower Sorbian, which are recognized as minority languages in Germany. The Sorbs have a rich cultural heritage, including traditional music, dance, and crafts.
Historically, the Sorbian community has faced challenges in preserving their language and culture due to assimilation pressures. Despite this, they maintain a vibrant identity through festivals, educational initiatives, and the promotion of their languages. The Sorbian Association plays a key role in advocating for their rights and cultural preservation.
