Sorbian People
The Sorbian people are a Slavic ethnic group primarily located in the region of Lusatia, which spans parts of eastern Germany and western Poland. They have their own distinct languages, Upper Sorbian and Lower Sorbian, which are recognized as minority languages in Germany. The Sorbs have a rich cultural heritage, including traditional music, dance, and crafts.
Historically, the Sorbian people have faced challenges in preserving their identity due to assimilation pressures. Despite this, they maintain their traditions through festivals, literature, and education. The Sorbian language and culture are supported by various organizations, ensuring their survival in a predominantly German-speaking environment.
