Shu Han was one of the three kingdoms that emerged in China during the late Eastern Han dynasty, specifically from 220 to 263 AD. It was founded by Liu Bei, a warlord who claimed descent from the Han dynasty's royal family. The kingdom was located in the southwestern region of China, with its capital at Chengdu.
Shu Han is known for its notable figures, including Zhuge Liang, a brilliant strategist and statesman. The kingdom faced constant military challenges from its rivals, particularly Wei and Wu. Despite its relatively short existence, Shu Han is remembered for its cultural contributions and the legendary tales surrounding its leaders, especially in the historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
