Seleucus IV
Seleucus IV was a king of the Seleucid Empire, ruling from 187 to 175 BCE. He was the son of Antiochus III and succeeded his brother, Seleucus III. His reign was marked by financial difficulties and challenges from rival powers, including the Roman Republic and the Parthian Empire.
During his rule, Seleucus IV attempted to stabilize the empire's economy and manage its vast territories. He is known for sending his son, Antiochus IV Epiphanes, to secure alliances and strengthen the empire's position. However, his reign ended when he was assassinated, leading to further instability in the region.
