Sarabjit
Sarabjit Singh was an Indian national who was convicted of terrorism and espionage in Pakistan. He was arrested in 1990 and sentenced to death for his alleged involvement in bombings that resulted in the deaths of several people. His case drew significant media attention and sparked debates about the treatment of prisoners and the legal processes in both countries.
Sarabjit spent over 22 years in prison, during which he maintained his innocence. His health deteriorated significantly while incarcerated, and he was attacked by fellow inmates in 2013, leading to his death. His case remains a point of contention in India-Pakistan relations.
