Saptarishi
The term "Saptarishi" refers to the seven great sages in Hindu mythology, who are considered the mind-born sons of Brahma, the creator god. These sages are Vashistha, Atri, Angirasa, Pulastya, Pulaha, Kratu, and Marichi. They are revered for their wisdom and spiritual knowledge, playing a significant role in various ancient texts, including the Vedas.
In the night sky, the Saptarishi are often associated with the constellation Ursa Major, known as the Great Bear. In this context, the seven stars represent the sages, symbolizing guidance and enlightenment. Their teachings and contributions to Hindu philosophy continue to influence spiritual practices and beliefs today.
