Sapodilla
Sapodilla is a tropical fruit native to Central America and the Caribbean. It has a brown, rough skin and sweet, grainy flesh that is typically brown or yellow. The fruit is rich in vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber, making it a nutritious snack. Sapodilla is often eaten fresh or used in desserts, smoothies, and fruit salads.
The sapodilla tree, known scientifically as Manilkara zapota, can grow up to 30 feet tall. It thrives in warm climates and is cultivated in various countries, including Mexico, India, and Thailand. The tree also produces a latex known as chicle, which was historically used to make chewing gum.
