Sabaean script
The Sabaean script is an ancient writing system used in the southern Arabian Peninsula, primarily by the Sabaeans, a civilization that thrived in what is now Yemen. This script is a form of alphabetic writing, consisting of 29 characters, and was used to inscribe various texts, including religious and administrative documents.
Dating back to around the 8th century BCE, the Sabaean script played a crucial role in the development of other scripts in the region, influencing the Himyaritic and Arabic scripts. It provides valuable insights into the language, culture, and history of the Sabaean civilization.
