Rusyns
Rusyns are an East Slavic ethnic group primarily found in the regions of Carpathian Ruthenia in Ukraine, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary. They have their own distinct language, known as Rusyn, which is closely related to Ukrainian and Slovak. Rusyn culture is rich in traditions, folklore, and music, reflecting their unique history and influences from neighboring countries.
Historically, Rusyns have faced challenges regarding their identity and recognition, often being classified under broader national categories. Despite this, they maintain a strong sense of community and cultural heritage, celebrating their customs through festivals and local events. The Rusyn diaspora can also be found in the United States and Canada, where they continue to preserve their traditions.
