Russian Federal Subjects
Russian Federal Subjects are the various administrative divisions of the Russian Federation. There are 85 federal subjects, which include different types such as republics, territories (krais), regions (oblasts), federal cities, and an autonomous oblast. Each subject has its own level of administrative authority and governance.
These federal subjects vary in size, population, and economic resources. For example, Moscow is a federal city and the capital, while Tatarstan is a republic with a significant degree of autonomy. The structure allows for diverse local governance while maintaining a unified national framework.
