Rupert of the Palatinate
Rupert of the Palatinate (1619-1682) was a German prince and military leader, known for his role in the English Civil War. He was born into the House of Wittelsbach and was the son of Frederick V, Elector Palatine, who was briefly King of Bohemia. Rupert became a prominent commander for the Royalists, fighting for King Charles I against the Parliamentarians.
Rupert was also an accomplished artist and scientist, with interests in painting and engineering. He is often remembered for his cavalry tactics and his ability to inspire troops. After the war, he lived in exile and continued to contribute to military and naval innovations.
