Frederick V, Elector Palatine
Frederick V, Elector Palatine (1596-1632) was a German nobleman and a key figure in the early stages of the Thirty Years' War. He became the Elector Palatine in 1610 and was known for his strong Protestant beliefs. Frederick is often referred to as the "Winter King" due to his brief reign as King of Bohemia, which lasted only one winter from 1619 to 1620.
His rule ended after the Battle of White Mountain, where his forces were defeated by the Catholic League. Following this defeat, Frederick lost his titles and lands, leading to his exile in the Netherlands. Despite his short reign, he remains a significant figure in European history.
