Rameswaram Island
Rameswaram Island is a small island located in the southern part of India, part of the Pamban group of islands. It is situated in the Gulf of Mannar and is connected to the mainland by the Pamban Bridge. The island is known for its beautiful beaches, clear waters, and rich marine life.
The island holds significant religious importance, particularly for Hindu pilgrims, as it is home to the famous Ramanathaswamy Temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. Rameswaram is also a gateway to the sacred site of Dhanushkodi, a ghost town with historical significance.
