Queen Sophie of Greece
Queen Sophie of Greece was born on June 26, 1870, in Berlin, Germany. She was the daughter of King Frederick VIII of Denmark and Queen Louise of Denmark. In 1889, she married King Constantine I of Greece, becoming the queen consort. Sophie played a significant role in Greek society and was known for her charitable work.
During her time as queen, Sophie faced political challenges, especially during the Balkan Wars and World War I. After the war, she and her family went into exile due to political turmoil in Greece. She returned to Greece after the monarchy was restored in 1920 and remained influential until her death in 1932.
