Pyramid of Teti
The Pyramid of Teti is an ancient Egyptian pyramid located in the Saqqara necropolis, built during the 6th Dynasty around 2345-2335 BCE. It is the burial site of Pharaoh Teti, the first ruler of this dynasty, and is notable for being one of the earliest pyramids to feature inscriptions of the Pyramid Texts, which are religious spells intended to protect the pharaoh in the afterlife.
The pyramid originally stood at about 52 meters tall but has since lost some of its height due to erosion and stone robbing. Surrounding the pyramid are several smaller pyramids for queens and a mortuary temple, which served as a place for rituals and offerings to honor Teti after his death.
