Puran Poli
Puran Poli is a traditional Indian sweet flatbread, popular in the states of Maharashtra and Karnataka. It is made from a dough of whole wheat flour, which is rolled out and filled with a sweet mixture of cooked split yellow gram (chana dal) and jaggery. The flatbread is then cooked on a hot griddle until golden brown, often served with ghee or milk.
This dish is commonly prepared during festivals and special occasions, especially during Holi and Gudi Padwa. Puran Poli is not only enjoyed for its delicious taste but also for its nutritional value, as it combines protein from the lentils and carbohydrates from the flour.
