Princess of Brazil
The "Princess of Brazil" refers to Isabel, Princess Imperial of Brazil, who was the daughter of Emperor Pedro II. Born on July 29, 1846, she played a significant role in the abolition of slavery in Brazil. In 1888, she signed the Golden Law, which officially ended slavery in the country, making Brazil one of the last nations in the Americas to do so.
Isabel's actions earned her the title of "The Redeemer," but her political influence was short-lived. Following the abolition, Brazil experienced a coup in 1889, leading to the establishment of a republic and the exile of the imperial family, including Isabel.
