Princess Sophie of Saxe-Hildburghausen was born on January 24, 1730, in Hildburghausen, Germany. She was a member of the House of Saxe-Hildburghausen and the daughter of Duke Ernst Friedrich. Sophie is known for her marriage to Duke Charles of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, which helped strengthen ties between the two duchies.
