Princess Maria Anna of Portugal was born on September 21, 1861, in Lisbon, Portugal. She was the daughter of King Louis I of Portugal and Queen Maria II of Portugal. Maria Anna belonged to the House of Braganza and was known for her royal lineage and connections within European nobility. In 1886, she married Prince Ludwig of Bavaria, becoming the Duchess of Bavaria. The couple had several children, strengthening ties between the Portuguese and Bavarian royal families.
