She was the daughter of Prince Louis of Hesse and Princess Alice of the United Kingdom, making her a member of both the Hesse and British royal families. Irene was known for her charitable work and dedication to her family. In 1888, she married Prince Heinrich of Prussia, and they had three children. Throughout her life, Irene maintained close ties with her relatives across Europe, including her cousin, Queen Victoria. She passed away on November 11, 1953, in Kassel, Germany.
