Prince Pedro
Prince Pedro, also known as Dom Pedro I, was the founder and first ruler of the Empire of Brazil. Born on October 12, 1798, in Lisbon, Portugal, he played a crucial role in Brazil's independence from Portugal in 1822. He declared Brazil's independence and became its first emperor, ruling until 1831.
In addition to his role in Brazil, Prince Pedro was also a significant figure in Portuguese history. He was the son of King John VI of Portugal and later became King Pedro IV of Portugal. His dual monarchy highlighted the complex relationship between Brazil and Portugal during the 19th century.
