Pope Martin IV
Pope Martin IV was the head of the Roman Catholic Church from 1281 to 1285. Born as Simon de Brion in France, he was elected pope during a time of political turmoil in Italy. His papacy was marked by efforts to strengthen the Church's influence and address various issues within the Christian community.
During his reign, Martin IV supported the Kingdom of Sicily and sought to resolve conflicts with the Aragonese monarchy. However, his time as pope was relatively short, and he faced challenges in uniting the Church and maintaining peace among rival factions in Europe.
