Aragonese
Aragonese is a Romance language spoken primarily in the region of Aragon in northeastern Spain. It is part of the Iberian Romance languages and has its roots in the Latin spoken during the Roman Empire. Although it has a rich history, the number of speakers has declined over the years, leading to efforts for its preservation and revitalization.
The language has several dialects, including Central Aragonese and Eastern Aragonese. Aragonese is recognized as a minority language in Spain and has some legal protections, allowing for its use in education and local government. Despite challenges, cultural initiatives continue to promote its use among younger generations.
