Pope Agapetus I
Pope Agapetus I served as the head of the Roman Catholic Church from 535 to 536 AD. He is known for his efforts to address the theological disputes of his time, particularly those related to the teachings of the Monophysites. His papacy was marked by a commitment to maintaining the unity of the Church amid various controversies.
During his papacy, Agapetus I also played a significant role in political matters, notably involving the Byzantine Empire. He traveled to Constantinople to meet with Emperor Justinian I, advocating for the rights of the Church and seeking to resolve conflicts between the Church and the state.
