Parliament of Spain
The Parliament of Spain, known as the Cortes Generales, is the country's legislative body. It consists of two chambers: the Congreso de los Diputados (Congress of Deputies) and the Senado (Senate). The Congress has 350 members elected by the public, while the Senate has 266 members, with some elected and others appointed by regional legislatures.
The primary function of the Cortes Generales is to create and approve laws, oversee the government, and represent the Spanish people. It meets in the Palacio de las Cortes in Madrid, where important national decisions are made and debated.
