Palest Liberation Organization (PLO)
The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) is an umbrella organization founded in 1964 to represent the Palestinian people and their national interests. It was established to unify various Palestinian groups and advocate for the rights of Palestinians, particularly in relation to the state of Israel. The PLO aims to achieve self-determination and independence for Palestinians.
The PLO is recognized as the representative of the Palestinian people by many countries and international organizations, including the United Nations. Over the years, it has engaged in negotiations and peace processes, notably the Oslo Accords in the 1990s, which aimed to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
