Operation Gibraltar
Operation Gibraltar was a military operation conducted by Pakistan in 1965 during the Second Indo-Pakistani War. The objective was to infiltrate forces into the Indian-administered region of Jammu and Kashmir to incite a rebellion against Indian rule. The operation aimed to support local insurgents and create instability in the region.
The plan involved sending troops disguised as local fighters across the border. However, the operation faced significant challenges, including detection by Indian forces. This led to a larger conflict between India and Pakistan, ultimately escalating into a full-scale war that lasted several weeks.
