One-Horned Rhino
The One-Horned Rhino, also known as the Indian Rhino, is a large herbivorous mammal native to the grasslands and forests of the Indian subcontinent. It is characterized by its single horn, which can grow up to 25 inches long. This species has thick, wrinkled skin that resembles armor and is typically grayish-brown in color.
One-Horned Rhinos primarily inhabit areas in India and Nepal, with the largest population found in Kaziranga National Park. They are known for their solitary behavior, although they may gather in small groups near water sources. Conservation efforts are crucial for their survival, as they face threats from poaching and habitat loss.
