Nervous Tic
A nervous tic is a sudden, repetitive movement or sound that a person makes, often without realizing it. These involuntary actions can include blinking, head jerking, or throat clearing. Nervous tics are common in children and can sometimes continue into adulthood. They may be triggered by stress, anxiety, or excitement.
While most tics are harmless and temporary, some individuals may experience chronic tics, which can be associated with conditions like Tourette syndrome. Treatment options, such as behavioral therapy or medication, can help manage more severe cases. Understanding and support from family and friends can also be beneficial.
