Motor Tic
A motor tic is a sudden, repetitive movement that a person cannot control. These movements can include actions like blinking, head jerking, or facial grimacing. Motor tics are often associated with conditions such as Tourette syndrome but can also occur independently. They can vary in intensity and frequency, sometimes worsening with stress or excitement.
Motor tics typically begin in childhood and may improve with age. While they are not harmful, they can be socially challenging for those who experience them. Treatment options, including behavioral therapy and medication, may help manage the symptoms and improve quality of life.
