Nepalese monarchy
The Nepalese monarchy was a traditional system of governance in Nepal, where kings ruled the country for centuries. The monarchy was established in the 18th century and played a significant role in unifying various regions of Nepal. The king held both political and religious authority, symbolizing national identity and unity.
In 2008, the monarchy was abolished, and Nepal became a federal democratic republic. This change followed a decade-long civil conflict and widespread demands for democracy. The last king, Gyanendra Shah, was dethroned, marking the end of the royal lineage's political power in the country.
