Neo-Elamite
The term "Neo-Elamite" refers to a period in ancient Iranian history, specifically from around 1000 to 650 BCE. This era is characterized by the resurgence of the Elamite civilization, which was located in what is now southwestern Iran. The Neo-Elamite period is marked by the establishment of several powerful kingdoms, such as Susiana and Anshan, which played significant roles in regional politics and trade.
During the Neo-Elamite period, the Elamites developed a rich cultural identity, evident in their art, architecture, and writing. They produced intricate pottery, metalwork, and inscriptions in the Elamite script. This period also saw interactions with neighboring civilizations, including the Assyrians and Babylonians, influencing and shaping the cultural landscape of the region.
